Pulp & Beyond 2026 is just around the corner. This year, Fibenol is not coming with concepts. We are bringing proof.
At booth 5C15, we will showcase real fibre-based packaging samples. You can see and touch burger boxes and buckets designed to replace plastic-coated alternatives.
What is Woodcell™
Woodcell™ is a cellulose-based material made from wood residues using Fibenol’s Sunburst® technology. It is used as a functional barrier to cover fibre packaging. Instead of adding plastic layer, the barrier becomes part of the fibre itself. This keeps the structure simple, recyclable, and bio-based, while still delivering resistance to grease, moisture, and air.
Packaging and thermoforming
The focus at the event is on applications that are hard to solve. You will see fibre-based burger boxes and buckets that remain recyclable without plastic layers, while maintaining the required performance (OGR/WOGR). At the same time, Woodcell™ is used in thermoformed packaging such as trays and lids, where it helps make products lighter and stronger while reducing the need for fossil-based coatings.
Beyond packaging
Woodcell™ is part of a wider material platform. At the same site, Fibenol produces Lignova® lignin and wood sugars, enabling new bio-based solutions for both material and chemical industries, for example in construction materials and bioplastics.
Meet the team 📍 Booth 5C15
If you want to go deeper into applications, materials, or scaling:
- Mikk Kull – fibre-on-fibre packaging solutions and product samples
- Gert Preegel & Frederic Naves – Woodcell™ material and applications & thermoforming
- Peep Pitk & Liisa Rohila – broader material innovation portfolio – wood sugars and Lignova® lignin
And on the final day:
Peep Pitk will speak at Speakers’ Corner (16th, 10:00).
